Over the last few months I have been working on a project with a friend and one of the first obstacles we faced was how to share files back and forth; it's easy enough when we're together but when you go home it's a different story. Sure you can email stuff back and forth, but believe it or not some people actually step away from computers from time to time, making them inaccessable by email. Well it was Microsoft to the rescue with Skydrive.
Check it out, it's actually pretty cool. They give you 25 GB of online storage for pretty much any files you want to put up there, and the only requirement is an MSN membership. Long story short if you have MSN messenger or a hotmail address you already have everything you need to utilize this feature; and this one, unlike the Google version, doesn't care what files you put up there, if you can put it on a computer you can upload it and share it.
OK it's not perfect, the upload takes forever, but it does eventually get up there. Reference, a 10 MB file takes up to five minutes to upload, but thats really the only downside.
Thanks Bill Gates, there are a lot of people who may not like you but at least you're not Steve Jobs.
